It was often that the paratrooper would just complain, bicker, and just simply whine. In a mission, he always asks what’s in it for him. In yet, sometimes his answers were always a threat to make him move. Crosshairs was known to be a jerk to everyone. A complete afthole. In return, his skill as a sharpshooter is out of the world. Skills that can never be compete nor lost by any chance whatsoever.

Lately he has been quiet, whether someone tried to tease him, talk to him, or yet start a conversation. He simply says, ‘Eh…’ and walks off. If something has taken over Crosshairs, it would have scared everyone. It was nice every once in a while to have peace with no bickering or complaining by that case, but when he says one simple word and walks off then something is clearly wrong.

Drift has noticed this, sensing that Crosshairs was indeed hiding something. The samurai was the one for having a sixth sense in the group. Meditating every day to keep his conscious in check was the best thing he ever did honestly. His watches Crosshairs like a hawk, studying his body language, his facial expression, and his mouth language. He narrowed his optics slightly to know that something was clearly wrong with Crosshairs.

For the past hour, Drift was hiding amongst in the surroundings as he watched Crosshairs. Everything he does was normal. Shooting things, ignoring things, or getting pissed at things that would hurt him in return and in that result shoots it. The samurai was still not highly convinced that Crosshairs was being…normal or simply changing. Changing wasn’t a good thing, why change when you are perfect to be unique?

Drift honestly like Crosshairs for who he is. Simply jabbering up a storm about how guns were better than swords usually get on his nerves, but it shows that Crosshairs was simply in a good mood. Being called ‘samurai’ or ‘zen master’ usually let Drift know that Crosshairs was simply being himself. Yet as of now, he doesn’t say anything to Drift. Just one simple glance and look away just had Drift suspicious.

Later in the night, the night sky was presentable and everyone was in their rooms resting for the night. Drift though was not resting as he felt something was amiss. Something was out of place, seeing the figure out in the distance. The form of the tailcoats and the little antenna sticking out from the helm let Drift know that was Crosshairs for sure and the mech loved to sleep! Now Drift was most certainly concern for his friend.

Crosshairs was now sitting as he looked up to the sky for some reason. It has yet came to him that he was being watched and followed by the samurai all day. He just didn’t sense the samurai. He blinked his optics a few times before venting silently.

Drift has finally appeared behind Crosshairs, slightly tilting his helm at the paratrooper as he remained quiet. He moved quietly beside Crosshairs, scaring the paratrooper out of his armor and sits beside him. As if he didn’t care what look Crosshairs gave him. “What is keeping you awake my friend?” He simply asked, hoping that Crosshairs wouldn’t just…grunt. He glances at Crosshairs to see him just staring then huffs.

“…nothin’.” He mumbled before looking away from Drift and growls a bit in annoyance, not that Drift didn’t hear it or anything. He just wanted the samurai to go away and go to sleep or meditate or something.

But after a few moments, Crosshairs was convinced that he wasn’t going to leave. He growled a bit louder, catching the attention of the samurai quite easily as he saw from the corner of his optic. Bringing his legs in; he went to use his arms to support him as to get up.

Suddenly, he felt his wrist being caught and was yanked back down to the ground with a heavy thud. His optics widened at the sudden movement. His helm spinning lightly at the fall before he had his mind returning back to normal. He looked around for that damn samurai that caught his wrist and forced him to stay before he looked back up to see Drift right in front of him. Over him too! He gasped as he tried to push Drift off, but his servos were caught by the wrist and was instantly pinned down.

Sneering, he struggled against the hold of the samurai. Every so often of his struggle he could see the optics of the samurai narrowing. He tried to lift up his chest and wiggle to get free from the hold, but he was highly convinced that the samurai was stronger at the advantage. He then rest his body, but sneering at Drift now. “Why did ya do that?” He suddenly asks in a mumble tone.

Drift backed his helm away slightly as he heard him finally talk more than the last couple of hours. He made a simple huff sound when the paratrooper mumbled and tighten his grip on Crosshairs’ servos, returning was him yelping sadly. “Because you have been awfully quiet Crosshairs, everyone is concerned in your sudden change in mood. Is there something you are not telling us?” He questioned with a deep tone.

Crosshairs just laughed a bit. “What’s it to ya?” He asked again. Seeing the samurai narrowing his optics further, then he winced when he felt the squeeze getting tighter and tighter. “AH AH! OKAY! I get the damn point. Everyone is concern, ‘m sorry for bein’ quiet. I just have a lot of shit on my mind right now.” He stated under his breath.

Drift suddenly raised an optic ridge in this. Since when did Crosshairs have a lot of things on his mind? He wasn’t sure if he could completely understand this from him. “What kind of things?” He asked as he loosens his grip on Crosshairs servo.

Crosshairs groaned in frustration and struggled to get his servos free. “If I told ya, ya would simply laugh at me.” He retorted.

Drift simply shook his helm. “Laughter is not what I do when I’m concern for my friends. I simply wish to know what the problem is in order to help.” He said in a calm tone.

Crosshairs looks at him, blushing a bit before looking away embarrassed. “I…I been thinkin’ about ya.” He said.

The samurai could see the blush on the paratroopers face, then the sudden glance away in embarrassment. Then suddenly saying the paratrooper has been thinking about him. He leans closer to Crosshairs face and simply nudges his cheek with his nose. “If it would make you feel better, my thoughts are the same as yours. I’ve been thinking about you as well.” He managed to say in a tone that had Crosshairs smiling.

Crosshairs suddenly looked at Drift with a little smirk on his face. In that moment, Drift knew the jerk was back in town and that his future mate already had plans coming up for them both.
