Sometimes it's Better Without You

For a long long time, I was raised by one caregiver was my father. My only father that I didn't have a mother when I was little. My father, the Thunder God, Raiden was a great man. Who protected Earthrealm, stop Shao Kahn invasion, and protected his only daughter. Only until then the Deadly Alliance was a different thing, Liu Kang was murder by Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn was killed by the Deadly Alliance. My father had to help the mortals of Earthrealm to stop the Deadly Alliance.

I was unable to do anything at the most, first off I was just a bit too young...oh the terror of what my father gone through for this day to come. Months has past when I last trained with my mast Sola, I have learned that my father and the best of Earthrealm warriors were going to stop the Deadly Alliance. I had to plead my father to come with him, with all my heart, I told him that I'm finally capable of battling against evil. Only he looks at me with a smile and nods.

"But Zoey Rin, you must not die in Mortal Kombat, I refuse to lose you after what happen to your mother. Please Zoey, you must do the right decision and stay alive no matter what." He told me, as his white eyes glow softly white.

Myself, I gave him a smile and hugs him tightly, I felt the tingle from his soft electricity. It didn't matter, I loved him with all my heart.

But those things changed when someone you love is corrupted...after sacrifice himself to save Earthrealm didn't work. For days, I have tried to find my father that I could still sense him alive. It was never easy to destroy my own father. I looked and search for days for him.

Finally, I found him at home...which was unusual. But i was so happy to see him again. I ran to him and saw that closer that his cape had torn edges on the end. I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw him completely.

He turned around as he heard my footsteps, he looked so different now. Treforming as a dark warrior dressed in black robes and dark armor, his eyes changed from a soothing blue to a belligerent red. His cape was changed to a subdued red and appears tattered at the end. He wasn't himself anymore...I could feel tears sting my eyes just lightly.

"Dad...what happen to you?" I asked with a tremble in my voice.

"Zoey...its not what you think," He paused. "Things just happen you know..."

"No! NO! NO!" I screamed. "Things just doesn't happen! You are different! Your appearance is not the same anymore! Your not the father I once knew."

"Don't say that Zoey Rin...I'm still your father though I'm just different."

I stepped back away from him as he stepped forward. "Zoey...please...don't do this to me."

"I'm sorry dad...but I can't stand seeing you anymore..." I said softly and jump away from him.

"ZOEY!!"

I closed my eyes shut as he screamed my name, jumping through the trees and landing away from home. I curled up into a ball against a tree, unable to pull myself together...how...how could he be so different? No...he wasn't the same, I could feel darkness in his aura...sometimes I just thought I was better off without him.
